Changes to the Payment Methods API search, effective 09/09/2024

With the aim of simplifying the configuration experience and reducing inconsistencies, starting from 09/09/2024, the information related to the BIN, which helps identify the card issuer and the type of product involved in the transaction (credit or debit), will no longer be included in the responses to requests made to the Payment Methods API.

Currently, this request returns two parameters associated with this information: bin and bins. In the first case, its attributes allow recognition of included (pattern) and excluded (exclusion_pattern) cards for operations with Mercado Pago, as well as indicating whether those included cards can accept installments (installment_pattern). In the case of bins, the identification of the enabled payment methods is done by extension, BIN to BIN.

Remember: from the indicated date, when you search for available payment methods, this information will no longer be returned in the API response.

For this reason, we recommend making the necessary adjustments in both your integration and your system to avoid relying on it as soon as possible, so that this change does not catch you by surprise.
